It could have been the noticeable chill in the air today or maybe even the fact that Halloween ending brings us one holiday closer to the big one, but when I caught “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” on the radio today, I had to smile.
I know, I know, playing Christmas music before Thanksgiving – let alone the weekend after Halloween – is a tad premature. But after a stressful couple of weeks at school and the big family move from one city to another, I found myself welcoming that warm, fuzzy feeling that accompanies the holidays.
And so naturally, the second-best thing that follows that holiday spirit (besides family, of course) is the gift list.
So indulge yourself in a little holiday wish list, and start dreaming of brown paper packages tied up with string. Here are a few of my November favorite things!
I’m all about the spangly, and if there was ever a season for twinkle toes, the holiday season’s it. Despite the fact that metallic point heels first danced their way into my heart back in the Louis Vuitton Spring 2011 collection, their staying power has been impressive. Two years later, I’m still on the hunt for the perfect way to break the shoe shine into my wardrobe. By sneak, oxford, pump or heel? Definitely all four.
These two love the oxfords.
Are you feeling the full skirts yet? The vintage look is lowering hems across the board, and as a strong advocate of anything with a vintage influence, I must say I’m eager to try it out. I’m concerned it may make me look like I’m wrapped up in a picnic blanket. Then again, if Audrey could pull it off, I think it’s worth a shot. Maybe that should be my new life motto.
I mean, who doesn’t love a dramatic shade? It’s like effortless makeup. Slip on a pair and all your dreams come true – like inventing sweets and your own candy factory. Also, I saw Willy Wonka this weekend and couldn’t resist.
Nothing puts a bigger smile on my face than a beautiful bag on my arm. Who else can you count on to tote around your most precious belongings, from a good read and swipe of lipstick to your notebook and emergency coffee fund.
