If you’re a television junkie in the modern age, chances are, you’re probably watching Netflix. (Or if you’re like most of my friends, you’re watching your other friends’ Neflix.)
Either way, you’re invested in that glorious online dispenser of hours of entertainment.
And that means you’ve probably had a run-in with “Orange is the New Black,” the internet television and movie mecca’s most popular original series.
As a modern-age fashionista and self-proclaimed television junkie, I can tell you my inspiration for outfits stems from a winding stream of influences – not the least of which is currently this on-trend television show.
No, no, I don’t mean I’m shuffling down the sidewalk in prison slippers and an orange D.O.C. uniform. I just mean we can take a cue from Piper here and dip our summer wardrobes into the show’s namesake color – orange!
So what’s the most budget-friendly way to incorporate the color into a look while still packing a punch? I’m glad you asked!
In the beauty department, orange is a no-brainer. An unexpected flash of color on the nails or lips is the perfect way to incorporate the season’s splashy shade into your getup without dropping much moola.
For the nails, try a couple coats of Spoiled Nail Color in “Jail Bait” orange for just under $2 at your local CVS.
For an orange pout that won’t leave you looking like a pumpkin, opt for an orange-red shade. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in “Carnival Spirit” will definitely add some fashionable fun to your look, and it’s currently on sale at $6.99 from Walgreens!
Ready for a bit more? Work the orange into the ultra-trendy Embroidered Peter Pan Collar Top from Forever 21, now on sale for $13.99. If that’s a little too edgy for your taste, try the color on in a small way with these printed canvas sneakers from H&M. And with a $9 price tag, you can definitely afford to kick up your feet!
Orange you glad you’ve got a rad new look to keep fresh in the heat?
